An OperatingSystem is a collection of SoftWare? on a computer that controls how the computer works. Among other things, the OS handles communication between programs and the HardWare? that the programs need to access, such as HardDrives?, printers, and memory.

Popular OperatingSystems include FreeBSD, GnuLinux?, and MacOS.
